I was originally going to do my own little thing today but as our lovely Amy is snowed under with work today and can’t post. So I’ve decided to do something which will hopefully give her a little smile.
Yes, Look Amy!, I’m doing a little bit on scarves. 😉
Did you know…
Ancient Rome is one of the first origins of the scarf, where it was not used to keep warm, but to keep clean. It was called the sudarium, which translates from Latin to English as “sweat cloth”, and was used to wipe the sweat from the neck and face in hot weather. They were originally worn by men around their neck or tied to their belt. Soon women started using the scarfs, which were made of cloth and not made of wool, pashmina, or silk, and ever since the scarf has been fashionable among women.
They have indeed become a rather large part among the accessories we can add. During winter they are a great way to provide extra warmth and can definitely be the statement piece of your outfit.
I could begin to rattle on about the different colours, patterns, shapes, fabrics about scarves but I would be here for a very long time to get even close to naming the majority of them.
Definitely an easy way to add a statement piece and if you go exploring on Google, you can find ways to make scarves with clothing you have already.
