Following on from Amy & Bec, I’m still on the fence about sequins. I do love the look of them but I’d be too scared to wear them!

I do think you can look down right classy though, Hilary Duff does it so well in this purple Michael Kors dress.

Perfect makeup, little accessories which keeps the focus on her dress and just an overall simple look that really dazzles.

She can also get it very, very wrong!

Just all wrong. She is pregnant but this is far from flattering to her new figure!

How I would style sequins:

I adore light pinks, tans, whites, creams and all of those types of colours. I think they work so well together for a soft feminine look.

Sequin Top

Again very similar tones and colours to the previous one.

Are you a fan of sequins?!

I am not usually a fan of sequins, I like them in theory but it doesn’t take much for an item with sequins to look second-hand. Laziness wins out and I don’t buy anything that requires hand washing. This year it is a serious trend and I am keen to see if I can find ways to incorporate it into my wardrobe without feeling like it is too over the top or requires too much effort.

Olivia Palmero keeps everything else simple letting her jacket literally and figuratively shine. She wears a French Connection Pearl Queen Jacket ($528).

A jacket is a great sequined item because they tend to not need as much washing and the likely wear and tear will be minimal.

You can recreate this look for $336:

  • Jeans – $62
  • Shirt – $45
  • Jacket – $165
  • Shoes – $34
  • Bag – $32

If you want to incorporate this trend into your look but you are not inclined to go the full glitter you can add a touch of sparkle in your accessories or as highlighting on your clothing rather than large blocks of bling.

I have to say I am in agreement with the positive reviews of RWB’s show for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

I love the Marvel heroes and I’m an avid fan of the films (especially the most recent one – The Avengers) so I was not shocked that I loved the show. I was pleasantly surprised by how wearable the pieces were however.

They are not for every one and granted I won’t be wearing any to work but they were fun. I have picked out some of my favourites to share below, despite being quirky they are really exciting. You can see more photos from the runway show here.

I love the use of bold colours and the creative use of graphic prints. I love how feminine and yet powerful the pieces are, like each one of the models became a super hero when she put on her outfit.

I fell in love with Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal of The Hulk, I would totally wear his face on my shirt. These are some butt-kicking ensembles.
