Friday is all about Mums this week. Tina (my Mum *waves*) has written to us to ask the following:

In my job I work with lots of mums. All age ranges and sizes. We spend a lot of time playing with young children, so need clothing to be practical and comfy. I wonder if the ABCs could put together some play outfits for mums, something that looks good, boosting mums confidence, yet is also practical for getting down and having fun with their kids. Outfits need to be affordable as these mums have loads of kid related expenses. Maybe some ideas from Target, Kmart, BigW etc….any ideas would be welcomed!

Just a quick note to share my love of the over-the-top-ness in all of the shows in Paris this week. McQueen was amazing and futuristic but managed to keep the lines and fabric feminine (see that is where the genius lies) . Chanel blew my mind by referencing Superman but also creating some of the most beautiful and flattering dresses I think I have ever seen. Stella McCartney put together a whole bunch of outfits, colours and textures that I am looking forward to seeing in stores soon enough.

Here are some of the highlights for me:

Chanel manages to distract people from looking at Katy Perry’s hair (She loved his “crunchy” shoes apparently)

The floor was littered with crystals as well.

Chunky knits and loud patterns are a common thread in many shows for Autumn/ Winter 2012.

More detail is added with the use of beads.

Beautiful fabrics and the perfect cut manage to make these dresses some of the most spectacular I have ever seen while still being wearable.

Alexander McQueen‘s show called out to our inner girlie girl, using layers, beading and many different textures to create dresses that are fascinating. The colour palette really appeals to me as well, especially the use of plum tones to soften brighter pinks.

I just want to rub my face in the bottom of this dress, is that weird? The colours here are perfect.

LOVE the ruffle on the top!

The word gossamer comes to mind when I look at this, it’s so soft and sparkly it looks like a dream made manifest.

More of the same here with a slightly different neckline and hem length, I think this is slightly longer than I could pull off but the elements all work so well I’d be tempted to try.

Never considered myself to be a pom pom kind of girl but the length, cut and the boots  are pretty exciting.

Definitely not your grandma’s doilies, I love the bold use of lace and the contrast with the black.

I want to be a princess too!

Stella McCartney featured knits and so many outfits featuring royal blue that I was  instantly smitten. The range possibly has less initial impact than the other two here but I love the interesting take on colour blocking and the fact that some of these don’t just look wearable they look comfortable.

A hint of blue and a fun skirt, what more could a girl ask for?

I love the simplicity of the lines in this. A high neckline probably wouldn’t do me any favours but I could imagine how amazing this would look on a certain co-blogger….

The same basic premise but with a hemline that is a bit more fun and a matching blazer to complete the look.

This time paired with neutral tones, that blue still catches your eye.

Coral knit suit, it doesn’t sound like it should look this fabulous and yet there it is asking me to believe that it should be in my wardrobe.

If you had endless money would you take any of these home?
