Today’s challenge is to create a look inspired by a film, but I’ve gone towards recreating two looks from 500 Days of Summer because I already love the way the outfits are.

I just had to pick the ever lovely Zooey Deschanel, and in particular her role in 500 Days of Summer.

The hints of vintage styling throughout the movie screams femininity and oozes sweetness.

I just love everything about these outfits. Incredibly adorable which evokes a quiet sense of sexiness.

Summer Holiday

This time next week I’ll be on holiday and I am so excited about having a few days off and also the prospect of packing, yes packing.

I love the challenge of planning my outfits and creating as many looks as possible with as few items as humanly possible. I take it almost as a personal failure if I need any more than carry on luggage for a trip.

So my holiday staples are light, bright summer dresses, lots of flats, cute sandals and the odd pair of thongs. I also make sure I take along my favourite lip gloss, a little make up and sunscreen.

Handbags can help take an outfit from day to night, from casual to smart. They are, without a doubt, my favourite fashion item. I have a huge collection of bags of different colours shapes an styles but my favourite bag style at the moment is the doctors bag.

The doctors bag is quite structured and tends to be relatively large, it is perfect for over night travel/ weekends away or for work. They make great carry on luggage as they tend to provide more protection for your stuff in the overhead locker.

I would go so far as to say that if I could only have one handbag this might be it. If I could have two I’d have this and a clutch for formal occasions.

They come in all colours and even the shape and style varies greatly depending on what you are looking for, making them versatile and practical (my fashion mantra).

You can see them just about every where at the moment but I don’t think we are quite done with them yet, I predict they will stay on the must have list for 2012.
